Dancers from Creative Dance Center and the Institute of Performing Arts for Youth’s Nutcracker in a Shell – All Jazzed Up! have been cast in their second season of the elegant holiday tradition, Nutcracker Tea, at The Ritz Carlton, Tysons Corner. Dancers will present mini-performance vignettes, then meet the audience members up close for a one of a kind children’s holiday experience.
The dancers will portray classic Nutcracker Ballet characters and entertain six separate audiences of families for a festive white glove yet fun holiday experience. Represented by the dancers will be the young, imaginative Clara, the dashing Nutcracker Prince, the radiant Sugar Plum Fairy, and the icy, graceful Snow Queen as well as characters from the faraway lands within the Kingdom of the Sweets. With styles encompassing ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop, the dancers will present a contemporary, abbreviated version of the classic story that will have something to delight everyone.
Set in the grand backdrop of The Ritz, with the coupling of a selection of afternoon tea sandwiches, pastries and sweets from the Ritz Carlton Pastry Team, this Nutcracker Tea experience is a perfect way to begin the holiday season.
