Nutcracker in a Shell: The REMIX!​

 

Nutcracker in a Shell is a "family-friendly", shortened and jazzed up version of the original Nutcracker. By children, for children, Nutcracker in a shell is designed to keep the interest of young children with a mix of ballet, jazz, and hip hop. We bring the festivity of the Christmas party, the magic of Clara's dream world, the peace of the land of snow, and the mirth of the land of sweets to life in an annual favorite of kids from 2 to 82!​ We're excited for our 28th annual performance of Nutcracker in a Shell: The REMIX in November 2026!.

But first... it's time to cast our show

 

Auditions for Nutcracker in a Shell: The REMIX for 2026 are on Sunday, AUGUST 16th.​

​

Putting together our Nutcracker performance in only 10 rehearsal weeks is a significant undertaking, but the results on stage are fantastic. If you have previously scheduled events that will result in missing choreography sessions (during the weeks of Aug 18-28 in the evenings) or more than one scheduled rehearsal (Aug 30th and Sundays in Sept, Oct, and November), please consider whether signing up for the Nutcracker this year is the right decision. When we have dancers miss multiple weeks, it impacts the entire groups ability to clean and finalize the routines in such a short time. We appreciate your consideration of this matter.

 

Attendance on November 8th and November 15th for the in-studio run throughs is MANDATORY. If you are unable to attend BOTH of these weeks, please consider that this might not be the right year to participate in the Nutcracker.

While it is our goal to accept every dancer who is interested in participating, our casting may be limited by numbers of dancers of a certain age. If we are forced to limit registrations, your dancer will be placed on a waiting list.

All registrations must be submitted no later than Monday, August 10th
